Within the scope of the project, a cost-effective AI-supported early warning system will be developed for greenhouses cultivating California peppers. The system to be developed will perform anomaly detection aimed at identifying diseases and pests at early stages that cannot be diagnosed with the naked eye, operating both in the visible spectrum and in the infrared regime (hyperspectral spectrum).
Image acquisition in the project will be carried out by a robot capable of operating in both soil-based and soilless greenhouse environments.
Thanks to the early disease detection system to be developed, yield loss in California pepper greenhouses will be minimized and plant and product damage caused by diseases will be reduced. In this way, by lowering carbon emissions per unit of production, the project will contribute to low-carbon production.
The project involves two partners. ARTECS Anadolu R&D will act as the project coordinator. WELLZTECH Bilişim, located at ODTÜ Teknokent, is the other project partner responsible for artificial intelligence software development.
